Folkestone Riding Club

Welcome To Folkestone Riding Club

Welcome to the Folkestone Riding Club web site – a club offering instruction, training, advice and fun to riders across south east Kent.

Folkestone Riding Club is one of the 430 British Riding Clubs currently affiliated nationally to the British Horse Society and we belong to the British Riding Club's Area 10 along with 29 other clubs across Kent, East Sussex and East Surrey.

The Club was formed in 1980 by a group of local riding enthusiasts and has been offering regular lessons, training, competitions, summer camp, pleasure rides, lectures, demonstrations, social events and Area qualifier competitions to its members ever since.

We are a small, friendly riding club that currently runs a mixture of activities including regular flatwork or jumping lessons and more specialised training in all disciplines for all abilities using local venues. Our training is delivered by BHS qualified and registered instructors.

Folkestone Riding Clubs affiliation to the British Riding Clubs movement provides us with the opportunity to compete in Area qualifiers for the BRC’s National Championships in dressage, show jumping and horse trials as well as the British Riding Clubs own ‘Festival of the Hunter’.

Folkestone Riding Club members also receive the quarterly Rider magazine, the official publication of British Riding Club, as well as a wide range of discounts on various goods and services including a 10% discount from the BHS Bookshop, £5 off freezemarking with Farmkey, up to 35% off Horse & Hound, Horse and Eventing magazine subscriptions and 5% off all orders from Jump4Joy (excludes jump cups).

New members are always welcome; see our become a member page for details.
